Made in bone china, works much better and it is easier to use than the plastic ones (that you have to fill with hot water. Just preheat in the microwave for one single minute and serve your hot food as usual.(of course you can also heat food in it, just increase the time accordingly

I would never have my parents eat on a plastic baby dish or anything that looks like one (it is a matter of dignity, our loved ones deserve better); Those plastic things are not  efficient  anyway to do what they are supposed to do: keep food warm. 

I see a few reviews saying that they work fine (?); compared to what? I guess since those things were the only thing available, it was a big improvement at the time (but not for adults please).

 A couple years ago I received an e-mail from a lady in the UK asking me to ship one plate because her mother would not eat on those plastic plates that you fill with hot water with the help of a small plastic funnel (now we ship worldwide through Amazon.com).
